Awards from the 2017-2018 School Year


Golden Radish Award

The Cobb County School District Food and Nutrition Service has been rewarded the coveted Golden Radish Award once again for doing extraordinary work in farm to school. Last year, the District was honored for using 24 mobile kitchen carts to conduct live cooking demonstrations with students, having over 30 school gardens and serving more than one million pounds of locally grown food.


Cobb County Wins All-Star Award from Healthy Georgia Awards

Cobb County School District Food and Nutrition Service has been awarded the All Star award from the Healthy Georgia Awards. The All Star Awardees are valued leaders noted for their advocacy, multiple partnerships, and various collaborations with other organizations working to enrich a healthy youth environment.

The Board and Superintendent Chris Ragsdale recognized the following for the District’s Gold level award: Emily Hanlin, executive director of Food and Nutrition Services; Amy Lambert, director; Will Snead, assistant director of wellness; and Monique Johnson, associate director of nutrition and menus in the October 26th board meeting.

To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, (AD-3027) found online at: http://www.ascr.usda.gov/complaint_filing_cust.html, and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
